Hello Bocce People!
This is just a quick reminder that any information regarding stats/scores etc must be in to us by this Monday, August 16th. We will be creating the schedules early next week for the Semi-Finals on Saturday, August 21st and Sunday, August 22nd
Once results are in from next weekend we will create schedules to send out for the Finals, which are on Sunday, August 29th.
I would also like to take this opportunity to introduce you to your new Bocce League Commissioner, Tim Rochester. Many of you Union Hall teams are familiar with Tim as the house manager, starting in the fall season he will be taking over all the official Bocce duties. I know he has some big ideas for Bocce and is excited to get the ball rolling on the Fall season as soon as we wrap up for the Summer.
You can expect semi-final schedules in your inbox some time on Wednesday next week. Also, please make sure you have paid your $20 per team Bocce dues before the semi-finals. Teams that don’t pay risk losing their spot in the semi-finals!
Thanks,
Andrew

Hey Bocce Folk,
Disregard that last bit of news!
It has been brought to our attention that Sunday May 9th is Mothers Day and is not suitable for the second round of semi-finals.
We have decided to push everything forward a week, so teams will get a week off before the semi’s after all.
Semi-finals will now happen on May 15th and 16th.
Finals will take place the following Sunday May 23rd.
Schedules will be sent out Friday May 7th.
Any Bocce dues, standing issues, and make-up games will still need to be resolved by May 4th.
Thanks,
Andrew

Hello Floyd Bocce Teams,
We ordinarily give a week off between regular season play and semi-finals; however we had a late start on this spring season and in order to get things back on schedule for the summer season we will forgo the week off.
This seasons semi finals will happen on May 8th and 9th.
The finals will take place the following Sunday May 16th.
Semi-finals schedules and brackets will be sent to all teams on Tuesday May 4th.
As the season is finishing up it is very important that you look at the website and make sure that all the games you have played are scored. Your standing on May 4th will be final; any make up games or scoring issues you have must be resolved by that date.
Please e-mail me with any questions: An ... @TheBellHouseNY.com
Good luck on the last few games!
-Andrew

Hey Guys,
This is just a news blast to clarify some policies for our Bocce league that may have been confusing up to this point.
Before I had said that if you miss 3 games you are disqualified from the semi-finals at the end of the season. I can see where this may have bred some confusion, the official rule is that if you miss 3 games you are dropped from the remainder of the season and you lose your pre-registration rights for the next season.
It would be unfair to count the last two weeks of misses for teams that did not realize this. So starting this weekend this is the official rule. For this reason it is very important that you make sure I know if you have rescheduled a game so I do not mark it against you as a no-show.
This is a league policy because teams often clear their schedules in order to make their Bocce game, and it is frustrating as well as discouraging if the other team fails to show up with out any notice.
I am putting up the scores from last weekend now. Usually they go up faster (by Tuesday) but this week has been a little hectic.
Good Luck!
-Andrew

Hello Everyone,
Welcome to the Fall 09 Bocce League.
By now you should have received an e-mail from me with this seasons schedule as well as the contact information for the other captains. If you have not please e-mail me ASAP.
I thought I would mention a few important things before things kick off tomorrow.
As always, the 3 default rule stands. If you default MORE then 3 times this season then you are disqualified from the semi-finals. Also teams need to have at least 4 players present in order to qualify for their match. If you show up with less then 4 players then it is up to the opposing team whether or not to let you play or force a default.
If you need to schedule a make-up game or change the date/time of a game the ball is in your court. You need to make sure that all parties involved with any schedule change are on board, then just let me know and I will make a note of it and change the details on the website. Any schedule changes will not be reflected in the PDFs you received by e-mail, so the official and accurate source for that information will be this website.
The season is set up for about 11 weeks of games, the last day being Nov. 23. We will then break for thanksgiving weekend and come back and start the semi-finals on December 5th, with the Finals the following week.
If you have any questions just e-mail me. I will do my best to get back to you quickly. Please be aware that I am also managing the Union Hall league and my regular duties for all the bars, so it may take a little bit (usually I will get back to you quickly within the day recieved). Also, I am unavailable on the weekends and I am out of the office by 6pm during the week, so any e-mails over the weekend will not be seen until Monday morning.
One final but very important item! Please... and I mean please, if you are the last teams of the day make sure the score sheets get handed to the bartender. If they don't, its a safe bet that some non-participating patron will destroy them, alter them, or maybe something even worse!
Its going to be a great season, good luck!
-Andrew
